1. St. Augustine Beaches
St. Johns County beaches generally allow restrained or leashed dogs under direct control.
That makes St. Augustine one of Florida’s easiest places to combine:

Anastasia State Park does not allow ordinary pets on the beach.

2. Fernandina Beach / Amelia Island
Fernandina Beach city beaches generally welcome leashed dogs.

A quieter Northeast Florida fishing trip.
3. Panama City Beach Dog Beach Area
Panama City Beach has a designated Dog Beach near Russell-Fields City Pier.
Dog access is limited to the designated area.
Fishing rules around the pier and swimming zones should be checked before casting.
Best For
Panhandle dog-beach access with major fishing infrastructure nearby.
4. Pensacola Dog Beach East
Pensacola Beach’s designated Dog Beach East offers legal dog access.
Fishing legality and crowd conditions should be checked for the exact section.
Best For
Gulf Coast beach time with fishing nearby.
5. Pensacola Dog Beach West
Dog Beach West offers another legal dog-sand option.
Because the beach is smaller than the total Pensacola shoreline, keep casting well away from other visitors.
6. Daytona Beach Dog-Friendly Zone
Volusia County now has designated dog-friendly beach areas, including Daytona Beach.

What About Fort De Soto?
Fort De Soto has an excellent dog beach and strong fishing nearby.
But the designated dog-swim area and fishing areas should be treated separately.
Do not cast where dogs are actively swimming.
What About Bonita Beach Dog Park?
Bonita’s dog beach is excellent for dogs.
It is not necessarily the best place to cast around off-leash swimmers.
Use nearby fishing locations instead of mixing hooks with a busy dog beach.

Ordinary dogs are prohibited on the beaches.
Naples City Beaches
Ordinary pets are prohibited.
Most Fort Lauderdale Beach

Canine Beach’s limited hours and active dog use make it a poor place to combine with casting.
Most Miami Beach Sand
Dogs are restricted to designated Bark Beaches and set hours.

Even when fishing is technically legal, do not cast near:

- Swimming dogs
- Children
