6:00–9:00 a.m. 5:00–7:00 p.m.
This is the clearest legal sand-and-surf option in the city.
Walk A1A
The city currently allows dog walking on designated sections of the west side of A1A.
North of Sunrise Boulevard, dogs can currently walk the west side of A1A 24 hours a day.
This is useful when:
- Canine Beach hours are over
- The dog needs a beachfront stroll
- You want ocean views without going onto the sand
Visit Snyder Park
Greater Fort Lauderdale tourism highlights Snyder Park’s Bark Park as one of the area’s major dog-friendly recreation options.
This is a stronger choice for:
- Off-leash exercise
- Running
- Social dogs
than a simple city walk.
Skip Holiday Park as a First Choice During Construction
Holiday Park does have a dog park, but major construction is underway.
Current Fort Lauderdale project information says the western portion of the dog park is closed during the project and walking routes are affected.
Full completion is expected in summer 2027.
Check before going.
Walk Las Olas Boulevard
Las Olas is one of the easiest dog-friendly city experiences.
