Pet-Friendly Restaurants: Naples, FL

Fifth Avenue South, Third Street South, Tin City and Celebration Park - Naples dines outdoors even if it will not let dogs on the sand.

Updated October 24, 2026 4 min read By

Naples has one of Southwest Florida’s strongest outdoor dining cultures.

That is excellent for dog travelers because the city offers many patios even though ordinary pets are prohibited from City of Naples beaches.

The best dining areas include:

  • Fifth Avenue South
  • Third Street South
  • Tin City
  • North Naples
  • East Naples

Fifth Avenue South

Fifth Avenue South is the heart of downtown Naples dining.

The district has numerous restaurants with outdoor tables, and some welcome leashed dogs.

This is one of the easiest places to combine:

downtown walk + patio meal

without moving the car.

Because restaurant pet rules can change, verify the individual patio before making a special trip.

Third Street South

Third Street South is another excellent dog-friendly dining district.

The area offers:

  • Restaurants
  • Cafes
  • Outdoor tables
  • Walkable streets

It works particularly well in the evening.

Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar

Tommy Bahama Restaurant on Third Street South is known for its tropical Naples atmosphere and outdoor seating.

Dog access can depend on the current patio setup, so confirm directly before arrival.

Best For

A polished Old Naples meal.

Jane’s Cafe on 3rd

Jane’s Cafe on 3rd is a popular breakfast and lunch spot in Old Naples with courtyard-style outdoor seating.

It is commonly known as a dog-friendly patio option.

Best For

Breakfast or brunch with a dog.

The Dock at Crayton Cove

The Dock at Crayton Cove is a long-running waterfront restaurant near Naples Bay.

Outdoor waterfront seating makes it an attractive pet-dining candidate, but confirm the current dog policy before visiting.

Best For

Waterfront lunch or dinner.

Tin City

Tin City is a waterfront shopping and dining complex near downtown Naples.

Several outdoor restaurants in the area can be useful for dog travelers.

Again, verify the individual business’s patio rule.

Celebration Park Naples

Celebration Park is an outdoor food-truck park in East Naples.

Its open-air format makes it one of the more practical Naples dining concepts for dog owners.

The atmosphere is casual and social.

Best For

Groups where everyone wants different food.

The Bay House

The Bay House in North Naples has waterfront and outdoor dining areas.

Because pet access can depend on the exact seating section, verify current policy directly.

Best For

North Naples waterfront meal.

Naples Brunch Strategy

Naples is excellent for morning patio dining.

Breakfast and brunch are often much more comfortable for dogs than midday summer meals.

Look around:

  • Third Street South
  • Fifth Avenue South
  • North Naples

Ask the Same-Day Question

Even a restaurant with a long dog-friendly history can change its policy.

Ask:

“Are dogs allowed on the patio today?”

before making a special trip.

Summer Patio Strategy

Naples summer is hot and humid.

Favor:

  • Breakfast
  • Early brunch
  • Dinner
  • Covered patio
  • Fans
  • Shade

Bring Water

Bring your own fresh water and collapsible bowl.

The Law Behind Naples Dog Patios

The City of Naples regulates this directly. Section 56-130 of the city code, “Dogs in food service establishments,” allows patrons’ dogs in certain designated outdoor portions of a restaurant in conjunction with approved outdoor dining, subject to an outdoor dining permit. The application has to include a diagram and description of the area dogs may use: its dimensions, the placement of tables and chairs, the entrances and exits, the boundaries, any fences or barriers, and the sidewalks and rights-of-way around it. It also has to state the days of the week and hours dogs will be allowed. The city manager reviews the application and issues the permit if the materials are in order and the permit will not hinder public health, safety and welfare.

That is why a Fifth Avenue South or Third Street South patio can be dog-friendly at one time of day and not another, and why a restaurant with a long dog-friendly reputation can lose it when its permit lapses. The state law underneath it, Florida Statute 509.233, sets conditions that apply to every permitted patio:

  • Leashed and under reasonable control at all times, and never on chairs, tables or other furnishings.
  • No path through the restaurant. Dogs cannot travel through indoor or non-designated outdoor areas, and reaching the patio cannot require passing through an indoor area.
  • A posted notice for the public, employees and patrons, with waterless hand sanitizer at tables.

The city beaches are a separate rule, covered in our Naples beaches and parks guide. A dog that can sit with you at dinner on Third Street South still cannot walk onto a City of Naples beach.

Naples is not a dog-beach dining town.

It is a walkable downtown + patio town.

That distinction makes the trip much easier to plan.
