Pet-Friendly Hotels: Miami, FL

Andaz Miami Beach, the Marriott inventory and the airport strip - choose the neighborhood first, then compare the pet policy.

Updated September 7, 2026 3 min read By

Miami has a huge pet-friendly hotel market across:

  • Miami Beach
  • South Beach
  • Brickell
  • Downtown Miami
  • Coconut Grove
  • Airport area

The important thing is to compare property-level rules.

Fees, size limits and number of pets vary dramatically even within the same hotel brand.

Andaz Miami Beach

Andaz Miami Beach currently has a very clear pet policy.

Current Hyatt rules list:

  • $100 pet fee per stay
  • One dog up to 50 pounds
  • Up to two dogs with a 75-pound combined limit
  • Maximum two pets per room
  • At least three days’ advance notice

Pets are not permitted in:

  • Restaurants
  • Bars
  • Pool decks
  • Beach
  • Spa
  • Fitness center

There is a designated pet-friendly public area on the second-floor exterior promenade, excluding the Bar Centro terrace.

Best For

A Miami Beach resort stay where you understand that the dog can stay at the hotel but cannot join you in every resort space.

Marriott Pet-Friendly Miami Inventory

Marriott currently lists a large number of pet-friendly Miami and Miami Beach hotels.

Current Miami listings include properties such as:

  • Brickell Arch, a Luxury Collection Hotel
  • Multiple downtown and airport-area hotels

Miami Beach listings include:

  • The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach
  • Other participating Marriott properties

Marriott explicitly notes that pet policies vary by property.

Best For

Travelers who want to compare multiple neighborhoods and brands in one system.

South Beach vs. Brickell

South Beach

Best for:

  • Bark Beach access
  • Ocean Drive
  • Beach vacation
  • Walkability

Brickell

Best for:

  • City travel
  • Restaurants
  • Downtown access
  • Business

Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove can be a better hotel area for travelers with dogs that prefer:

  • Quieter streets
  • More shade
  • Outdoor restaurants
  • Less beach-tourist congestion

Airport Area

Airport hotels can be useful for:

  • Overnight stays
  • Early flights
  • Road trips
  • Lower rates

They are not ideal if the trip revolves around dog beaches.

Beachfront Hotel Does Not Mean Dog Beach

This is a critical Miami Beach point.

A hotel can be directly on the sand while ordinary dogs are permitted only at designated Bark Beaches.

Check your exact distance from:

  • 21 Street Bark Beach
  • 53 Street Bark Beach
  • 81 Street Bark Beach
  • Haulover Dog Beach

Pet Fees

Always calculate the entire stay.

A $100 per-stay fee can be much cheaper than a $50 nightly fee over a week.

Weight Limits

Andaz currently allows:

  • One dog up to 50 pounds
  • Two dogs up to 75 pounds combined

Other hotels may be much stricter or more generous.

Number of Pets

Do not assume two dogs are allowed.

Property rules vary.

Ask About Cats

Some hotels accept dogs and cats.

Others allow dogs only.

Ask Whether Pets Can Stay Alone

This matters if you’re planning:

  • Beach outing
  • Boat trip
  • Museum
  • Long meal

Ask whether:

  • Crate required
  • Time limit applies
  • Staff can enter room

Best Miami Hotel Area by Trip Type

Best beach vacation: Miami Beach / South Beach Best dog-beach access: North Miami Beach / Haulover area Best city stay: Brickell / Downtown Best relaxed neighborhood: Coconut Grove Best overnight / airport trip: Miami International Airport area
