These are the city’s legal off-leash park spaces.
Because ordinary dogs are generally not allowed in Miami Beach city parks outside designated dog parks, use the official Bark Park list rather than assuming any neighborhood park is dog-friendly.
Walk Coconut Grove
Coconut Grove is one of Miami’s easiest neighborhoods for a dog-friendly outing.
It offers:

- Walkable commercial areas
This is particularly useful when the beach is too hot.
Walk Brickell Early or Late
Brickell works well for a city dog that handles:
- Elevators
- Traffic

Day Trips From Miami: What Two National Parks Allow
Everglades and Biscayne national parks are both within reach of Miami, and both are strict about dogs. Plan around what the National Park Service actually allows, not around the scenery.
Everglades National Park. Pets must be on a leash of no more than 6 feet at all times and cannot be left unattended. They are allowed on open roadways for vehicles, in roadside campground and picnic areas, on maintained grounds near public facilities, and on private boats. They are not allowed on any trail, whether boardwalk, paved or unpaved, or on unpaved roads, and the Shark Valley tram road is closed to them. In practice a dog can ride the scenic drive and eat at a picnic table, but cannot walk the boardwalks that most visitors come for.
Biscayne National Park. Pets are allowed on the Convoy Point grounds and on Elliott Key. They are not allowed on Boca Chita Key, including aboard docked boats, or in the Dante Fascell Visitor Center. The leash limit is 6 feet, the dog must be under your control at all times, and it cannot be left tied up unattended or in a parked vehicle, which violates Florida animal cruelty law.
The National Park Service says service dogs trained to perform tasks related to a disability are allowed beyond these pet limits, while emotional support animals do not get that exception. If you want a full Everglades day with a dog that is not a service animal, bring a second adult so one of you can walk the trails while the other stays with the dog, or choose a different destination.
